If high insulin is used to regulate blood sugar.
If low then sometimes glocose is needed to raise the blood sugar otherwise the diabetic could lapse into a diabetic coma which can be fatal.

Pat yourself on the back. That means you’re doing a good job monitoring your diabetes. Understand that it’s not always going to be perfect, but what counts is your average of a period of time. If you can consistently keep it within the 80-120 range, that’s what counts.

OK…as a healthcare provider…let me try to help you. I’m not sure you understand the concept. Normal blood sugar levels are our goal. In normal people (without blood sugar issues) the body handles this effectively. No need for any interventions….we don’t monitor or care. In diabetics we have to monitor….our goal is what would be normal for anybody: normal values of blood sugar. The body is unable to handle high blood sugar levels and the medication we give to control the high levels can sometimes cause the levels to go too low. So diabetics watch blood sugar levels and anything else in thier life which effects blood sugar levels (medication, food, exercise, illness). It’s a daily balancing act. Does this help you at all? If not . e-mail me.

when glucose is high, insulin is released. When insulin is low glucagon is added. When glucose is just right, nothing happens! Your body uses it for respiration etc as needed.

    nothing ……… its normal

Yes, if the level is normal, things are fine, I have been a type 1 diabetic for 37 years, I now use an insulin pump, it is great, I like it. My a1c, for the last two test hase been 6.5….that is very good. Let me just say, try to stay close to narmal as posible, that does not meen test 4 or more times a day. Please check as needed, and ajust, the pump gives u that opetion!!!!!!!! Or take shots.

If their blood glucose level is normal they’ll be fine.

Nothing will happen if the blood glucose level is normal. And when the glucose is low, food is added. But if it is drastically low. Glucagon is added.

Its always changing. A low level might be 4, high 7.
Within that band it will be going up after a meal for 2 hours or so, then coming down. In diabetics it can be much lower than 4, and much higher than 7. I pass out when its 30 or so.

  10. Lynda V says:

If a person has chronically low bloodsugar they need to watch their diet and up their protein intact. That will help raise the over all sugar level.

Normal blood sugar doesn’t require anything to be done as the body is processing insulin and sugar normally…

with diabetes the pancreas has trouble either producing enough insulin or it produces way too much but in a normal person the pancreas produces the right amount of insulin & you have no problems

nothing, you only intervene if the level is abnormal…I think that’s what you asked :)
